London Titans: 2013 Partnership

We are delighted to announce that London Titans FC have selected us as their ‘Charity of the Year’ for a second successive year!

Titans’ Social Secretary Ollie James-Parr set a fundraising target of £2000 in 2012, and the team were within touching distance of fulfilling this target as we kicked off 2013. This year, there are big plans in store for the Clapham-based footballers, and Ollie is setting his sights on several special events to bolster their fundraising for us throughout our 25th year.

Here's what Ollie had to say about the year to come:

"London Titans FC are thrilled to be supporting The Food Chain again in 2013. Last year was the first time we had worked so closely with a charity and we had a fantastic time joining forces on a number of events. We raised a good amount of money and worked together on events including the Spring Office Picnic, Pride and our fundraisers in Clapham. We felt that there were so many more opportunities to raise money and awareness if we were to work together for another year and continue the amazing relationship we have with Charlie, Tina and all at the Kings Cross HQ."

Expect to see The Food Chain and the Titans joining forces at the following events this year:

  • London Pride - Saturday 29th June. London Titans and Food Chain will be walking the march together along with some other special guests.
  • Titans Summer Fundraiser - Sunday 14th July. Titanium will take place at The 2 Brewers Clapham in support of The Food Chain.
  • Titans Annual Birthday Tournament - Saturday 12th October.  Come along to Clapham Common where we will be raising money and also entering a Food Chain team!

Further to these confirmed dates, London Titans will be hosting another fundraiser in December and creating a calendar for 2014 which will be on sale from October. The team also have a number of other exciting events in the pipeline!

The Titans have a backlog of fixtures to sift through after the hazardous winter weather disrupted their mid-season schedule, but that’s not to say you won’t be hearing from them a lot in 2013! Social media gurus - follow the Titans on Twitter, or ‘like’ them on Facebook If you'd like to cheer on the Titans from the sidelines, then visit their website to view their upcoming fixtures and latest match reports.

If you are interested in volunteering for The Food Chain at one of the Titans events above, or playing as part of  Food Chain team at their Birthday Tournament later in the year, please email fundraising@foodchain.org.uk.
