A medical advisory board has recently been convened to provide The Food Chain with expert advice on changes within the NHS and ensure we are up to date with advice concerning HIV nutrition. This will ensure our services meet the evolving needs of people living with HIV in London.

Our medical advisory board consists of:
Alastair Duncan - Principal Dietitian, HIV at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Alistair regularly volunteers for The Food Chain as a Lead Cook and is a previous Chair of Trustees.

Dr Stuart Gibson - Chartered Clinical Psychologist at CASCAID. Dr Stuart Gibson works as a clinical psychologist in a multidisciplinary mental health service for people living with HIV in south London. For more than 12 years he has practiced clinical psychology, lectured, trained, and conducted research on the psychological aspects of living with HIV in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Stuart also has many years of experience in training about sexual diversity in psychology and psychiatry. He is the current Chair of the Faculty for HIV & Sexual Health in the British Psychological Society and has honorary appointments with the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London and Salomons (Canterbury Christ Church University).

Prof. Margaret Johnson – Consultant Physician of General Medicine, HIV/AIDS and Thoracic Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust. Professor Johnson set up the first and largest open-access HIV testing clinic in the UK and started the first specific clinic for women with HIV infection. Previously a Food Chain Patron her interests include antiretroviral antibody testing and HIV infection in women.

Dr Mervyn Tyrer – Associate Specialist at the Royal Free Hospital within the Department of HIV, infection and Immunity. Dr. Tyrer was a Food Chain Patron before moving on to the Medical Advisory Board.

Jason Warriner - Service Governance and Quality Director at Terrence Higgins Trust. Jason has been delivering our HIV awareness training for many years.
