TFC Management Committee Members:
Robert Dunk has been Company Secretary of The Food Chain since June 2011. He is a qualified Solicitor and is currently a European Legal Director for CB Richard Ellis in London. He has experience of both corporate, commercial and employment law and has served on the European management teams of a number of global companies.
Sue Louise is Food Chain Treasurer; she has over 25 years experience of working and volunteering in the not-for-profit sector. She is a qualified accountant and currently the Head of Management Informations Systems at Amnesty International. She has previously worked in both local and international organisations focussing on a variety of issues including health, housing, conflict journalism and development and spent 3 years working with the Santa Cruz AIDS Project in California. Sue has been a volunteer with the Food Chain since 1993.
Peter Roscrow is Chair of The Food Chain. He has been a donor to the Food Chain for many years. In 2009 he became a driver at the Highbury kitchen and was elected to the board of trustees in October 2009. Peter has been active in attracting corporate sponsors and donors for the Food Chain. After immigrating to the UK in 1998 from Melbourne Australia, Peter has had several roles within investment banking, most recently as Chairman of the property fund management business within Close Brothers Group plc. He can also be found DJ’ing at northern soul nights in Stoke Newington.
Caroline Hodge is one of the Vice Chairs of the Management Committee. She began volunteering for The Food Chain in 2006, and is a driver for the Tooting kitchen, and for two years a member of the Communications Committee. She was elected as a trustee in 2006. Caroline has over 25 years experience in Marketing, working with professional services firms and is currently the Strategic Marketing Director for BPP Professional Education, one of Europe’s largest professional qualifications trainer.
Jo Hancock is one of the Vice Chairs of the Management Committee. She has been volunteering for The Food Chain since 2006 as a Kitchen Assistant and, more recently, as Lead Cook. She was elected as a Trustee in October 2010. Jo has over 14 years experience of working in the care and support sectors, the majority of which has been for voluntary organisations or charities. She is currently employed as Director of Services for Providence Row Charity, an organisation working with the homeless and insecurely housed in the East End of London, where she has overall responsibility for all client-facing services.
Mike Drury joined The Food Chain in 2004 starting as a navigator at the Kentish Town kitchen and subsequently become supervisor and rota co-ordinator for the same kitchen. He joined the finance sub-committee in 2005 and recently taken over the chair of that committee. He spent a year working on the community fundraising committee in 2006. In his full time job he works within the public sector as a performance analyst that roles involves strategy development and implementation, performance management and organisational demand analysis. He currently is studying for MA in social and policy and criminology with the Open University.
Colm Howard-Lloyd first came across the work of the charity after bidding at a fundraising auction. Wanting to do more, he was elected to the board of trustees in October 2010 and is keen to ensure the work The Food Chain does is recognized as exemplar by those that can assist us; politicians, funders and the wider-community. Colm is also a trustee of Pride London (the annual parade, protest and party) and has been an advisor to HIV-charity Health Initiatives, assisting them with governance and finance issues. He manages to fit in some paid work too, working in the political sector as a speechwriter and communications expert as well as some freelance journalism and PR.
Harriet Jones has been volunteering with The Food Chain since September 2007, firstly as a navigator and now as a supervisor at the Tooting kitchen. She became a Trustee in October 2010. Harriet graduated with a Masters in International Public Health in 2007 and has since worked in the development sector, mainly in HIV focused roles. She currently works as the HIV Knowledge Management Coordinator for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. Presently her work focuses on the development of participatory approaches for people living with and affected by HIV to assess their quality of life, and tools to map and drive comprehensive programme responses to HIV. Although based in London, much of her work is with staff and partner organisations in Africa and other regions of the world.
Adrian Platt started volunteering for the Food Chain in August 2004 and continues to be a regular navigator from the Highbury kitchen. He was elected as a trustee in October 2008. Adrian is part-time Administrative Officer for Conciliation Resources, with responsibilities for admin, facilities, and human resources. He also volunteers for several other charities including the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign. He previously coordinated a Fair Trade Café in Bradford and has catered for voluntary organisations at conferences and events.
Sue Rogers started to volunteer in The Food Chain kitchens in 2002. She had previously trained and spent time working as a chef at Ballymaloe House and Cookery School in Ireland. Having volunteered as a Lead Cook for several years she has been involved in establishing the Lead Cook Working Group and takes an active part in Lead Cook training. Sue became a Trustee in October 2007.
Sue currently works as a Client Service Manager for a lifestyle management company. She spent several years working at the Charities Aid Foundation, managing a corporate trustee service for high net worth philanthropists. Prior to this Sue spent several years working in the field of recruitment and executive search in Russia.
Sanjay Gandhi joined the Management Committee in Jan 2011 and started his Foodchain life as a Driver at Kentish Town, becoming a Lead Cook in 2009. In his professional life, Sanjay has over 15 years experience working as Management Consultant specialising in Marketing and Strategy in the Telecoms and Media industries. He is currently employed as Head of Marketing for Lasa – a support organisation that provides training and advice to charities such as Shelter and AgeUK. He also works as a Marketing Lecturer at London Metropolitan University and Imperial College. In his spare time he’s often seen straining on a yoga mat or following his beloved Leicester City football club.
Maggie Elliott has volunteered in the Highbury Kitchen since 1997 and was chair of The Food Chain Management Committee for three years. She continues to advise the Management Committee as a co-opted member of the committee.
