Raise a grand for good
As a thank you to the individuals who ran marathons, swum the channel or simply dug deep from their own pockets The Food Chain treated everyone who raised over £1000 in 2009 to a trip on the London Eye on World AIDS Day 2009.
This year we want to double the number of ambassadors for The Food Chain. Everyone who donates or raises a thousand pounds will automatically become an ambassador and be invited to a thank you event later in the year.
If you would like to donate a thousand pounds, or set yourself the challenge of raising a grand for good please contact Tina.
You don't have to be rich to become an ambassador, here are some ideas to get your fundraising started:
1. Hold a 'wear green day' at work...or a bad taste Friday - more fun than your average dress down day, a prize for the worst outfit.
2. Adopt a bar: empty a collection tin in your local - hairdresser, pub or corner shop and empty it every month (you'll be amazed at how it adds up)
3. Run your own London treasure hunt (without going outside) - find out how by requesting a fundraising pack
4. Nominate us as your companies 'charity of the year'
5. Share your birthday with us - fed up with socks? Set up a justgiving page and ask for donations to The Food Chain instead.
6. Give it up - smoking, drinking, biscuits - what ever your vice and give the money you save to The Food Chain!
7. Volunteer as a fundraiser at events or on the Community Fundraising Working Group
8. Get your shorts on and cycle London to Paris
9. Leap out of a plane and fall 10,000 feet (with a parachute)
10. Sell red ribbons around World Aids Day (1st December)
11. Donate your lunch money to The Food Chain.
