Anthony

Anthony describes himself as a long-term survivor of HIV. One of the first to be diagnosed in the UK he allowed himself to be used for a number of trial drugs some of which have had a devastating effect on his body.

However, as he says "I'm still here and I still love my life".

Most of the time Anthony is well and volunteers for a number of charities giving his professional skills as well as supporting those newly diagnosed with HIV. He is particularly susceptible to chest infections which have developed into pneumonia on several occasions.

"Most of my old friends are dead now and though no one can replace them, Food Chain friends have helped fill the gap left by their loss and when I am ill they take wonderful care of me. Food Chain enables me to help those who are in much more need than me. I am one of the very lucky ones."
