The Food Chain wins The Guardian Charity Award 2005
The prize of £6000 donated by NatWest and The Royal Bank of Scotland and a new PC thanks to Smartchange is going to be used to enable us to develop and pilot a completely new service that we have been hoping to implement for some time: a Nutrition Handbook for those with HIV related illness. More information on this can be found inside the latest issue of Link. As well as the tangible prizes, the publicity resulting from this award will bring in new volunteers and enhance our credibility with funders. It will also remind readers of The Guardian that HIV is not just a problem for someone else but remains an issue that all of us need to tackle here in the UK. Congratulations to all volunteers and supporters of The Food Chain. This is your award and immensely well deserved.
