The Food Chain 21st Birthday Reception Raises £42,000

Last week, our 21st Birthday Reception at the glorious Spencer House raised a stunning £42,000. This will help The Food Chain to continue feeding people living with HIV in London.

Guests were treated to Happy Birthday sung by our first ever patron, the wonderful Jimmy Somerville and specially designed cakes donated by another Food Chain patron, Gerhard Jenne of Konditor & Cook.

General Manager Andrew Davies gave a stirring speech and took the opportunity to thank everyone who has helped to make The Food Chain the organisation it is today. To read his speech in full please click here.

The auction led by Richard Brierley, featured a stunning array of lots ranging from tickets to Julian Clary’s latest show and champagne with the Food Chain patron afterwards, to a Matisse lithograph donated by the Broad Gallery, to a week on the beach in St Lucia in a luxury villa! All in all, a night to remember!

Sincere thanks to everyone involved, including the musicians, all those who donated fabulous auction and tombola prizes and the team of volunteers who helped to make the evening such a memorable event.
