Volunteering Opportunities 2019
There's always plenty going on at The Food Chain, and we are always in need of volunteers to help us make it happen! If you’re an existing Food Chain volunteer and you'd like to get involved with any of the below, email Anna on firstname.lastname@example.org
Calum Franklin Fundraising Supper
Thursday 25th April
We are honoured to be welcoming Executive Head Chef of the Holborn Dining Room Calum Franklin to our kitchen for our first fundraising supper of 2019. He will be creating a delicious menu of his speciality pies, and his unique creative flair will surely make it an evening to remember!
We need: Five Servers (17.00 - 22.30), two Bartenders (17.30 - 22.30) and some help to set up (16.00 - 18.00). We may also need support in the kitchen (16.00 - 22.00) though this is not confirmed so if you're keen to KA I can put your name down and let you know when it's all decided.
Admiral Duncan Easter Fundraiser
Saturday 20th April
Our next venture to the Dunky is over Easter weekend, where there's always a warm reception and a party atmosphere waiting for us. Whenever we go out to spread the good word of The Food Chain, we inevitably encounter questions about why we are needed in an age where people are living so well with HIV. This highlights why we need to keep making those green T shirts visible - because even though London is doing a fantastic job of meeting the UN's global 90-90-90 goals, there will always be that 10% that need a little more support. They cannot be forgotten. It's why we're still here, it's why our fundraising is still so very needed, and it's why we're forever grateful to friends like the Admiral Duncan for their support.
We need: A few volunteers to shake a collection tin and spread the good word of The Food Chain. We'll be there between 6pm and 11pm so if you can spare a couple of hours, it would be great to have your help.
Covent Garden Cake Sale
Sunday 12th May
Our annual cake sale at the St Paul's Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival has been confirmed! This May will mark the festival's 44th year and it's still going strong! We'll be selling our tasty treats to keep the revelers going.
We need: As many bakers as we can get! Whether you can make sweet or savoury, lots or a little, fancy cupcakes or a good ol' lemon drizzle, we welcome your creations in all shapes and sizes. You can bake in advance and drop of at the kitchen during the week leading up to the cake sale, or drop them off at Covent Garden on the day. We also need help staffing the stand over the course of the afternoon (11.00 - 18.30), so if you can spare a couple of hours on the 12th that would be great too.
