training for volunteers

As well as a comprehensive induction for all volunteers The Food Chain provides role specific training to ensure volunteers have all the knowledge and skills they need to fill a role effectively.

The next volunteer induction will be towards the end of November and will accommodate people who cannot make Saturdays.

This autumn we have the following training confirmed for existing volunteers:

Our next rota-coordinator meeting will be Thursday 27 October at The Food Chain office.

Supervising training is scheduled for Thursday 24 November. This training should accompany any shadowing completed in the past few months or anyone interested in becoming a supervisor.

The next Food Safety Level 2 course will be held on Saturday 26 November. This training is essential for future lead cooks, and for any Kitchen Assistants wanting to enhance their food hygiene knowledge.

And finally, we will be hosting another Health and Safety training for Saturday 19 November. This training is ideally for future supervisors and lead cooks.

If you are interested in coming along to any of these sessions please contact Karla Alegria Volunteering@foodchain.org.uk for more information.
