A Super Social Sitdown!
It was a delight to be the beneficiary of a dinner party with a difference yesterday evening. A group of lucky Londoners gathered for a dress-to-impress table workshop and dinner, cleverly titled the ‘Social Sitdown’ and hosted by West Elm on Tottenham Court Road.
Guests indulged in delicious Persian mezze, expertly prepared by the talented Saima Khan from The Hampstead Kitchen. Tickets were priced at £15 and all proceeds from ticket sales came straight to The Food Chain, generating over £200 to support people living with HIV in London.
It was a long day for the hard-working staff at West Elm, who welcomed guests of the Social Sitdown after-hours so they were able to enjoy a truly inimitable dining experience in-store. The event provided an opportunity for people to not only choose from a selection of tasty, wholesome dishes but also enjoy one another’s company and learn about the important nutrition services The Food Chain deliver – a concept not dissimilar from that of our communal eating service, Eating Together.
Our sincere thanks go to West Elm, Saima at The Hampstead Kitchen and those who donated generously on the evening. We are very grateful to the Mayor of Camden, who was first to recommend our work to Saima.
