Silver Apple Soiree raises over £31,000
Last night we marked 25 years of supporting people living with HIV by hosting our Silver Apple Soiree at the Vincent Rooms.
We were absolutely delighted to welcome many new faces, as well as people who have been involved since the start of the charity back in 1988. Guests included Amanda Falkson and Mike Pennell two of the founding members of the charity. As well as attending they agreed to cut the (very large!) birthday cake and give a few words about the early days of the charity.
Our special menu was inspired by recipes from patrons Gerhard Jenne, founder of Konditor & Cook, and Allegra McEvedy, food writer, who both attended the evening. Our 140 guests were also joined by Ainsley Harriott. Dishes were also supplied by Claudia Roden, food writer and Shuet Han Tsui, one of our Lead Cooks.
Over the course of the evening there was a tombola and a prize tree. After a fabulous auction, led by Richard Brierley, which raised over 11,000 we were entertained by the swinging Sax Pastilles.
In total the evening raised over 31,000, an incredible result. You can still donate to support The Food Chain online.
