SUMMARY:International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Event
DESCRIPTION:The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial\, coordinated by the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+)\, is one of the world’s oldest and largest grassroots mobilisation campaigns for HIV awareness in the world. Started in 1983\, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial takes place every third Sunday in May and is led by a coalition of community organisations in many countries. \nThis year The Food Chain is joining with Positive East\, the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt Partnership\, and GNP+ to hold a memorial service – a chance to reflect\, remember and celebrate the lives of those lost to HIV/AIDS around the world. \nThe event will include: \n\nDisplay of panels 12 and 13 of the UK AIDS Quilts\nPresentation by Quilt conservator Emma Duggan\nBuffet\nRemembrance Tree planting in the Positive East Garden\nCandlelight Memorial\n\nPlease RSVP to fundraising@foodchain.org.uk
