5 Eating apples washed and cored
100g Mixed dried exotic fruit, chopped
(such as mango, papaya, banana, fig or dried mixed fruit)
50mls Apple juice
20g Soft light brown sugar
Half tsp Allspice
75g Butter
5x150g pot or 1 pot per person of natural yoghurt or custard of your choice

1) Preheat the oven to slow temperature at 300°f /150°c/140°c fan assisted/gas mark 2

2) Place the mixed dried fruit and apple juice into a bowl and soak - preferably overnight or for as long as possible

3) After soaking, add the sugar, allspice and butter to the fruit

4) Spoon the mixture into the holes in the cored apples, pressing in to fill well and then spread some more butter onto the apples

5) Place the stuffed apples into an ovenproof dish. Cover with foil and place in the oven

6) Bake for about 40 minutes

7) Remove the foil and cook for a further 15 to 20 minutes or until the apples are soft but not collapsing.

8) Serve with natural yoghurt, Greek yogurt or crème fraiche with the hot apples. You can also use low fat or your own recipe custard with the apples. Please be mindful of the fat and sugar content
