Richard Mills

Director of Income Generation

Biography

Richard Mills joined the Food Chain just before Christmas 2020.

Richard has worked as a Trusts Fundraiser for organisations including The Big Issue Foundation, Parkinson’s UK and the hospital charity, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. Prior to that he worked in health/social care commissioning for the NHS and local authorities. Richard’s role is to ensure that the Food Chain secures the necessary trust funding to keep on with all it’s vital work. He works with staff, services users, volunteers and trustees to ensure that the case for our services is put forward in the most compelling applications to funders.

We asked Richard about his first three weeks at the Food Chain:

“Well it’s been the strangest start to a new job, I spent the first 3 days at the Kitchen/Office in King’s Cross, since then like the rest of the team I have been working at home online. What I do know is that the Food Chain is a remarkable organisation with a great staff team, amazing volunteers and talented trustees and I feel fortunate to be able to use the fundraising skills I have to support people living with HIV with the challenges and struggles of everyday life.”
