Come and join us at Covent Garden’s May Fayre and Puppet Festival!
One of the most unique events you’ll find in this modern day city, the annual May Fayre and Puppet Festival in the ground of St Paul’s Church Covent Garden sees Punch & Judy Professors and Puppeteers from all over the country and abroad gather to perform near the spot where Samuel Pepys first recorded sighting Mr Punch in May 1662.
This year is not only Mr Punch’s 353rd Anniversary, but it’s the 50th birthday of the Fayre itself so expect extra special celebrations! The free-and-open-to-all day starts at 11am with a Grand Procession around the neighbourhood led by the Superior Brass Band. At 12 noon there is a Special Church Service with Mr Punch in the pulpit, followed by Shows, Stalls and Workshops, Folk Music and Maypole Dancing.
The Food Chain will be there with our charity stall selling cakes, bakes and delicious things. Pop along to see us, pick up something tasty and watch the festivities unfold!
