For those experiencing barriers to accessing food, we can arrange for a limited number (typically between 1 and 4) monthly food hampers to be delivered FREE to their home.
We also provide formula milk for babies under 1 year old.
The deliveries will consist of a range of items agreed between the Service User andy The Food Chain’s Dietitian that will help improve overall health and wellbeing as well as meeting specific goals. Lists are customised by the Dietitians according to dietary, cultural, practical and household needs at the point of referral.
This service can only be accessed once in a 12 month period, except in exceptional circumstances, and must be delivered to someone over the age of 16. We aim to contact all those referred within 5 working days.
Sample lists, recipes and resources like fact sheets and symptom diaries are sent to new Service Users (post or email) to help with meal planning. We also make many onward referrals if people need support in other areas such as benefits, housing or social support.
To access this service it is necessary to be referred by a referrer.
