In order to access The Food Chain’s services you must be referred by a health professional or another support organisation. We are known to all the HIV clinics in the Greater London area so that’s a good place to ask, and you can read more about how to access our services here.
One of our dietitians will contact each person who is accepted onto service and talk to them and their referrer about the package of support we can offer. This will help the dietitian to design a Personalised Nutrition Care Plan, which may include home-delivered meals, grocery hampers, cookery and nutrition classes or communal eating opportunities.
We strive to make our services as accessible as possible. Our resources are available in audio form, large print, and translated into multiple languages. We are often able to arrange language interpreters over the phone and are also keen to hear suggestions and feedback on other ways we can improve our accessibility.
Hundreds of volunteers deliver our services supported by a small staff team.
