The Food Chain’s Grocery service provides support to HIV positive people in London who are facing unexpected nutritional crisis.
For those who are in need as a result of ill-health yet can still prepare their own food we will arrange for up to three £40 food hampers to be delivered FREE to their home. Additional milk formula will be included for babies under 1 year old.
For people facing nutritional crisis due to unforeseen financial difficulties we offer a one-off crisis hamper worth a maximum of £50.
The deliveries will consist of a range of items prescribed by The Food Chain’s dietitians that will help people gain, maintain or lose weight. Lists will be customised by the Dietitians according to dietary, cultural and household needs at the point of referral.
This service can only be accessed once in a 12 month period, except in exceptional circumstances, and must be delivered to someone over the age of 16. All deliveries must be made within three months of referral.
Sample lists are sent to new service users to help with meal planning. For more ideas about what to cook take a look at our recipe pages.
