Grocery Deliveries

The Food Chain > Get Support > Grocery Deliveries

The Food Chain’s Grocery service provides support to HIV positive people in London who are facing unexpected nutritional crisis.

For those experiencing barriers to accessing food, we can arrange for a limited number (typically between 1 and 4) monthly food hampers to be delivered FREE to their home. We also provide formula milk for babies under 1 year old.

The deliveries will consist of a range of items prescribed by The Food Chain’s Dietitians that will help improve overall health and wellbeing as well as meeting specific goals. Lists are customised by the Dietitians according to dietary, cultural and household needs at the point of referral.

This service can only be accessed once in a 12 month period, except in exceptional circumstances, and must be delivered to someone over the age of 16. We aim to contact all those referred within 3 working days.

Sample lists and recipes are sent to new service users to help with meal planning. We also make many onward referrals if people need support in other areas such as benefits, housing or social support.

This service is often delivered in conjunction with Eating Together. For those who are unable to prepare their own food at home, they will be considered for our meal service.

To access this service it is necessary to be referred by a referrer.
