Nearly half way to 40k

The Food Chain > CEO Diary > Nearly half way to 40k

What a fantastic start we have had to our #SaveTheFoodChain campaign!

You can see from the content of this update that a great many people have already made a huge contribution by spreading the word, making donations, volunteering at events and doing everything they can to help with the campaign.

The result is that at the time of writing we have raised £15,229!

Donations have come in via  our website and GoFundMe pages and we have received one donation of £2000 from a charitable trust that heard about our appeal.

This is a great achievement and testament to the committemnt and hard work of everyone involved. Just two weeks in, it is very heartening to be well on our way to half way in terms of our initial target.

Attitude Magazine and Gaystar News both gave our story excellent coverage, and we are grateful to high profile supporters who have also spread the word through social media.  We have also had some lovely messages of support for our campaign from Food Chain friends from over the years.

The Food Chain founders Amanda Falskon and Mike Pennell are still on the campaign trail for us.  Amanda made a short film saying how much our services are still needed, and Mike commented

“As a TFC founder I am a little bit biased, but if there is no more TFC the skies will be a little darker and some lives will be a little harder. Please, if you can, turn out your pockets.”

Our community of supporters has grown over more than 3 decades and covers many miles.

The Food Chain of today can’t thank you enough for all you have done over the years, and your present day support. With such a great group of  Food Chain friends, we feel very optimistic that we can reach our appeal target. Thank you.
