March 13th 2020
Public Health England is now recommending some new actions that will help delay the spread of Covid-19.
In support of the delay strategy, The Food Chain has decided to suspend our Eating Together lunch service on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the FoodCycle meal on Sundays.
Some people living with HIV, including our service users, volunteers and staff also live with health issues such as diabetes, cancer and other conditions.
We wish to all we can to help protect all people who may be more vulnerable to serious illness if they were to catch Covid-19.
This means there will be no meal service in the Acorn House kitchen on Saturday 14th March or on any other days until further notice.
The Eating Positively classes that were due to take place on Monday 16th March and Monday 23rd March will be re-arranged to take place at a later date.
We will review the situation, on a week-by-week basis adn will open up the lunch service again as soon as possible.
In the meantime we will be in touch with all our service users who attend the lunches to let them know and to offer an alternative service for the time being.
All our other services will remain open as usual.
New referrals will still be accepted and processed as quickly as possible, and the Grocery Delivery service will continue to operate.
Please do call or email us if you have questions, would like some support or just a chat. We’ll be happy to hear from you.
Thank you for your understanding
